Dr. Jothi obtained his dental degree from University of Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in the year 2009.
Following his undergraduate dental degree, he was selected to join back UKM and was offered a scholarship to pursue further training in oral & maxillofacial surgery in The University of Hong Kong.
He also obtained a membership diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in the year 2012.
After completing his specialization training in Hong Kong, he served as a lecturer / consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon, in Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM and Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry UKM.
Dr Jothi actively involved in the undergraduate and postgraduate training and served as the coordinator for undergraduate oral & maxillofacial surgery course in UKM.
In addition to routine maxillofacial surgical practices, he has special interest in the area of dental implantology, wisdom tooth removal, maxillofacial trauma and orthognathic surgeries.
He actively publishes in academic publications and served as reviewer in national and international scientific journals.
He is currently part of Frontiers in Oral Health Journal Editorial Board and serve as sectional review editor for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the same journal.
